Rachele Somaschini

Rachele Somaschini, a Milanese driver born in 1994, began her career in motorsport with a strong message: "You are all the limits you overcome" a phrase that she often repeated with a dear friend, Angelica, who like her has dedicated her life to an important cause: supporting research on cystic fibrosis and doing it trying to realize her dreams. He inherited from his father Luca the passion for engines and at the age of 18 he took in record time the license of the car and shortly after also the sports license. After her debut in 2014 at the Inter-European Historical Cup at the Monza Circuit, she won the MINI Challenge 2016 and became Italian Mountain Speed Champion (2016 and 2017). In 2018 she made her debut in the Junior Trophy and in 2019 she won her first WRC World Championship race at the Monte-Carlo Rally and won the title of Italian Women's Rally Champion and won the ACI Sport R3 Cup. In 2020 she made her debut in the European Championship, competed in three World Championship (WRC) races and became a member of the FIA Women in Motorsport, the program launched by the International Federation to promote the presence of women in motor racing.

#CorrerePerUnRespiro

It is a solidarity project born from an idea of Rachele Somaschini to spread knowledge about cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease from which she herself is affected. His personal challenge to support research, which finds expression and resonance in the world of motorsport.

Cystic fibrosis is present from birth and is due to a mutation in the CFTR gene that has been inherited from both father and mother, both healthy carriers, often unaware that they are.

Cystic fibrosis alters the secretions of many organs that are denser and dehydrated, contributing to their deterioration. The bronchi and lungs suffer the most damage, and over time, inflammation and infections can lead to respiratory failure.

Recognized by the MUR - Ministero dell'Umìniversità e della Ricerca, theFondazione per la Ricerca sulla Fibrosi Cistica - Onlus (FFC Ricerca) since 2002 promotes, selects and finances advanced research projects to improve the duration and quality of life of people with cystic fibrosis, to definitively defeat the disease.
